Youth Sailing Director

Megan discovered the joy of sailing after moving to Bellingham to attend Western Washington University, and she hasn't looked back! She has been racing with the Bellingham Yacht Club since 2016 and spent almost a decade working in the charter industry. After that she spent a summer teaching sailing to high school students in the Caribbean as a First Mate for Broadreach and spent 45 days on board a Beneteau 55' with 9 17 year olds who were all beginner sailors. Megan is excited to join the BYC's Youth Sailing crew and spend her summer getting young sailors out on the water safely! She spends her winters skiing at Mt. Baker Ski Area.

Lead Instructor

Jack was born and raised in Bellingham, has been part of the Bellingham Yacht Club program since he was 6 years old. Jack is now attending Eastern Washington University but he is so excited to come back for the Summer. Jack remembers all the fun memories and life long friends he has made through his years at the BYC. Now that he's an instructor, he loves helping kids learn to sail and hopes they will enjoy summer camp just as much as he did!

This is my second year of working in the BYC's youth summer camps, but my first year as an instructor. I have been on boats my entire life, but started sailing competitively when I was 14. I love sailing all boats but specifically dinghies. Outside of sailing I enjoy backpacking, mountain biking and spending time with my dog! I'm super excited to get out on the water this summer and sail!

This will be my first year instructing with BYC and I am excited to meet everyone! I grew up on a sailboat in Seattle and sailed dinghies competitively as a kid. I love any sport involving the water but also enjoy mountain biking, skiing, and mountaineering. Teaching is a passion of mine, and I can’t wait to see everyone enjoy such a rewarding sport like sailing with us this summer!

Adam has been helping people get on the water since he first started  working at the WWU Lakewood Boathouse during his freshman year. Since then he has served as Lakewood's Assistant Manager and Windsurfing Instructor as well as working at the Community Boating Center and Mt. Baker Ski Area. Adam is passionate about all things outdoors and finds no greater joy than sharing it with others. Following this summer he plans to head to New Zealand with his bike in search of another adventure.

Cece just graduated from WWU with her Geophysics B.S. and is looking forward to going sailing on the bay this summer! She was a member of the WWU Sailing Team and a sailing and windsurfing instructor at WWU's Lakewood Boathouse before joining BYC's Youth Sailing Program. This will be Cece's first year instructing at BYC and she's excited to share the fun of sailing with students at all skill levels! When not instructing sailing Cece enjoys practicing jiu jitsu at Bellingham MMA, windsurfing and baking cookies.
