Summer came at last, and oh what a beautiful summer! The First Mates Board has been busy getting into place a few activities for all of us to enjoy.
The First Mates is the ladies auxiliary of the Bellingham Yacht Club. All wives (or partners) of active, senior/surviving, or life members of BYC, and women who are themselves active members in good standing are automatically members of the First Mates. Since you are all members of First Mates, your help and support is much needed for us to continue to provide you with interesting activities.
Our monthly Bridge Luncheons will start again on the 3rd Thursday of each month. The first will be Sept. 18 in our construction-in-progress Ward Room. Please make your reservations with the BYC office (360-733-7390) no later than Tuesday Sept. 16. If you donšt play bridge--great, come and have a wonderful lunch and just chitchat with the board and other nonplayers at our special table. Hope to see you there.
September 27, the First Mates Board is hosting a complimentary Continental Brunch for all First Mates. This is going to be on Saturday morning at 9:30 am upstairs in the main dining room of the Breakwater. Many of us work and just canšt attend some of our functions, so this was planned with you in mind. Please mark your calendar and try to join us. There will be door prizes and plenty of conversation, so do plan to come. Please make your reservations by Tuesday, Sept. 23.
