Steve Lorimer will be presenting three seminars to the BYC and Power Squadron members in the Ward Room. Reservations are on a first come first served basis with early registration encouraged as seating is limited.  Please RSVP at lorimerwa@hotmail.com.

In this session, we will cross Dixon Entrance (two routes) and visit the towns and anchorage sites of S.E. Alaska including a visit to Le Conte Glacier, Tracey Arm and Glacier Bay. Tour the towns of Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg, Juneau and Sitka. We will visit Elfin Cove, Tenekee Springs and Baranof Hot Springs and transit Wrangell Narrows and Rocky Pass.

The session will include where and how to find wildlife including black and grizzly bears and the areas where whales are likely to be found. Attendees are encouraged to bring chart plotters or charts and follow along as the presenter covers, in detail, the routes, anchorage sites and places of interest. Included will be several hotspots where salmon, halibut, prawns and crab are found, as well as sandy beaches, native villages and a visit to a longhouse at Klemtu.

The presenter, Steve Lorimer, is the current and a past Commander of the Bellingham Sail and Power Squadron and former member of the Bellingham Yacht Club. He has extensive cruising experience traveling in Northern B.C. and S.E. Alaska, has taught numerous workshops including at the Seattle Boat Show. The session will be interactive in nature.

Session 3 featuring Leaving the San Juans to cruise to Princess Louisa Inlet, Desolation Sound and the Broughton Archipelago is planned for March 28th, with further details on this session to follow.
