Captain Richard Rodriguez has announced that he will conduct courses for the eighth year in Bellingham. This year’s course will be begin January 6, 2014. The past six years Rodriguez has qualified over 700 Coast Guard Masters (Captains) in the San Juans. Graduates are working in a variety of positions. Zenith Maritime graduates operate vessels throughout the world and received their licenses through our approved training as an alternative to stressful Coast Guard examinations.

Captain Richard Rodriguez served as the primary Commercial Assistance Towing Responder in the San Juan Islands for nine years and brings “real world” situations to the classroom. He works professionally over 150 days a year in local waters, and has assisted over 1,200 vessels vessels in distress. Additionally he has trained law enforcement professionals and active duty Coast Guard crews.

This year’s course will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm. Jan. 6 – Feb. 26, 2014 in the Ward Room of the Belingham Yacht Club. A number of BYC members have earned their Captain’s Licenses with Captain Rodriguez. BYC Members qualify for a 20% discount off the $1,400 tuition.
