This is the Part 2 of Managing Medical Problems Aboard for Coastal Cruisers
Local boater and MD, Dr. Coggan will lead this workshop.
This will be more in depth and hands on with participants moving between stations that deal with different scenarios and including a MOB/COB retrieval demonstration on the BYC dock.
There will be 5 stations, each station taking about 30 minutes to complete, and participants will rotate through
all 5 stations in groups of a maximum of 5. The 5 stations will address:
1. The conscious vs unconscious victim and head injuries
2. Cardiac events and strokes
3. Man overboard, cold water immersion and hypothermia
4. Fractures and hemorrhage
5. Burns and carbon monoxide poisoning
May 20, 9:00am to 12:30pm, in the Ward Room. Please arrive promptly as there is alot of material to cover.
Due to the nature of the workshop we must limit numbers to 25, Part 1 particpants will be given priority. You must register to take part using the link in the heading. This Workshop is free to BYC and BSPS members.
