Come explore Victoria and the Gulf Islands with us in July.  This is a hop on/hop off cruise so you can join and leave according to your schedule.  Combine it with the Fisherman's Bay and Garrison Bay cruises beforehand and do the grand tour!!

We will have a 2023 Gulf Island Cruise meeting, probably in late April or early May where we will cover more details.  The one thing that all Captains need to do is make your reservations as soon as possible. Each Port is listed in the document below, and a couple (Victoria and Ladysmith) has specific instructions. You can make all reservations now with the exception of Telegraph Harbour which does not accept reservations until after April 1st.

This cruise is hosted by John Gargett and Patti White.

This year's Gulf Island Cruise is intended to be as relaxing as possible and there are
several things planned throughout the cruise that should be well worth the experience.

  • We are arranging for a double decker bus tour of historic locations in Victoria on July 6th
  • a very special catered dinner at Genoa Bay Cafe, truly considered one of the bestplaces to eat in the Gulf Islands on July 8th
  • a wrap up catered dinner at Poets Cove Resort and Spa on July 14th.
  • Each of these are extra expenses, around $100/person, but the exact numbers have yet to be finalized so we will update this as we get closer.
  • We will also have a potluck dinner on July 10th in Telegraph Harbour.
  • There cannot be a cruise without afternoon “tea” on the dock or onboard a boat or two

Other than these scheduled events, there is going to be lot’s of time for you to do whatever strikes you as a good idea that day. Maybe a couple boats want to go fishing or look for wildlife. Maybe others just want to read a novel or two. Some may want to walk their dogs, do some shopping, or play cards.

If you have not been to Canada before, Jane Bright can answer your questions regarding crossing the border. She has done a fantastic job of researching how to enter, and what you can bring. Some things are obvious - don’t bring guns or drugs (including pot & pot containing oils).  It is easy, and again, Jane knows all.  You can contact Jane at jkbright@comcast.net or 618-755-2130.

We generally don’t have a tight knit flotilla when we go Port to Port, but it is nice to try and stay in the same area. Some people may jump off the cruise, then join us at another stop. A few faster boats may leave early and fish the day, joining us in the evening.

Remember, this is all about what I used to say when I was Commodore:
“It’s the Water, It’s the Boats, It’s the Friends”
