Details

This is a Safety for Cruising Couples course offered to us by the Cruising Club of America and led by well known local sailor Tom White.  This will be a half day course covering the basics of cruising safety with an emphasis on cruising couples.  More details to be announced soon but the course will cover topics such as:

  • Importance of Teamwork and Confidence Building
  • Dealing with Emergencies
  • Person Overboard and Recovery Under Sail and Power
  • Other Emergencies
  • Know Before You Go: GPS, VHF, Using Charts and Chart-plotters
  • Navigation and Safety Equipment
  • Getting Help DSC Distress Communications
  • Preparing Yourself and Your Boat
  • Additional Resources and Checklists

The workshop will be taught by experienced CCA cruising couples and will follow a curriculum deisgned by CCA.  The Registration fee covers a CCA Safety at Sea book.

This workshop is open to member and non-members alike.

The book costs $15, you can register for attending with book for $15 or without book for free.
